Muley Reads: The Giving Tree

Sometimes, we just give and give, until there's nothing left to give.

Sometimes, all we have to give is love.

Sometimes, we can give little things like arts and crafts we made, give time to help someone, or give a caring ear or shoulder.

Muley Reads: The Gingerbread Man

Sharing a Thanksgiving dinner with friends and families is always a great thing, especially with dessert!  Anyone like gingerbread?  We do.  And more than just sharing food it's fun to share stories.

Muley's pal, Binky Bunny, hopped in with a suggestion to read a favorite book - one of Muley's favorites, too: The Gingerbread Man!  Fun book from 1973, originally owned (with additional coloring and illustrations) by Kevin L. Williams.

Zachary Haumesser assisted Binky Bunny.

Muley Reads: Stella Brings the Family

Just as Muley and Friends celebrate the differences between themselves, we celebrate the differences between people and differences.

Stella Brings the Family is a fun book about Stella who chooses who to bring from her family for a Mother's Day Party at her school.

What is your family like?  What about your friends' family?  Are there pets in either family?

Muley has a fun way to describe families as he prepares to read: Stella Brings the Family!

Muley Reads: Where the Wild Things Are

Muley Reads: Where the Wild Things Are!

Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. In this iconic story, when young Max dresses in his wolf suit and causes havoc in the house, his mother sends him to bed. From there, Max sets sail to an island inhabited by the Wild Things, who name him king and share a wild rumpus with him. But then from far away across the world, Max smells good things to eat. What makes Sendak's book so compelling is its grounding effect: Max has a tantrum and in a flight of fancy, visits his wild side – but he is pulled back by a belief in parental love to a supper “still hot." Generations have shared this beautiful picture book, and children of all ages will want to return to it again and again.

Reading is Fundamental!  Books add the FUN, Muley adds DA MENTAL!!

Muley Reads: A Roar of a Snore

If reading adds the FUN in FUNDAMENTAL; Muley adds "da mental" to it.  This is the story of Jack who can't sleep due to a loud snore.  Soon, he's on the case to solve the mystery from where it's coming! Is it a lion? A tiger? A bear?  Oh, my!!  You'll be surprised to see who - or WHAT?! - it is!!

"Phone-y Money"

A few folks from school were going to see a movie at the discount theater, and invited Muley who rushed home and asked his human caretaker, Jonathan, "Can I go?"

Jonathan asked him, "Do you have any money?"

Muley, remembering he had some cash, ran into his room and looked in his "money spot," finding it empty and then remembering when he loaned it out, Muley goes to make a call and get his money paid back...

Muley sings Karaoke: Lean on Me

In 1972, Bill Withers wrote a song that sums up how I feel about my friends, and so the same goes for Muley, obviously.  Please don't feel downtrodden!  You know we're here for you.  Ears to listen, shoulders and hugs.  Lean on me.

We may not be able to carry you, but we're here for you.  Much love, friends.
